 Project background 



Dingqiao Street, Longhu, Hangzhou is located in the core area of Dinglan New City, with a total construction area of 210,000㎡, has more than 1,600 underground parking spaces, 3 floors underground and 6 floors above ground. It is adjacent to Taohua Lake Park, Jianding Road Station of Line 3 and Smart Park, and is the first line of favorable planning in the station plate. In the future, under the favorable influence of industry and planning, it is estimated that the core radiation will be 3km/30min by walking, covering a population of over 400,000; The main radiation is 5km/15min, and the population exceeds 1 million.

 Design features 



The architectural design was inspired by Heaven Market. From architectural design, roof frame, roof grille, vertical decorative grille of facade, stone facade and aluminum facade color, all have the charm of ancient Chinese architecture. Combined with the geographical location of Dingqiao street, Tianjie in Ding Qiao, it faces Pingshan in the north and Taohua Lake Park in the east. The design inspiration is very appropriate to the surrounding environment. Combined with the design of night lighting and top floodlighting, it shows the brightly lit characteristics o a myriad families in ancient markets. Derived from the inspiration of Zijingang Street design elements, it is also the design that Longhu Street subverts the traditional series Street and deviates from the original facade control system of Longhu Street. In terms of architectural scheme design, Zijingang Street was rated as the most beautiful Street in Longhu Street series.

 Facade design 



There are six design difficulties in the project: design of main entrance, design of entrance door, design of large glass facade, stone curtain wall, aluminum-plate facade and daylighting roof.


1. Design of main entrance


The main entrance is the class-1 facade that is mainly constructed for the street.


The selection of facade system at the entrance is not complicated, and it is basically characterized as vertical, open and horizontal implicit steel keel frame glass facade. However, for the selection of column keel cross-section of facade, the width of column is required to be between 65-100mm. Generally, the steel keel surface should be treated by fluorocarbon spraying, and will not be decorated by wrapping stainless steel or aluminum profiles. This also means that the quality requirements for derusting of steel keel and on-site fluorocarbon spraying are relatively high.


In addition, several details should be noted for large-span steel keel glass facade:


① The breaking joints of steel keel should be set at the position of 1/4-3/4 rather than at the position of 1/2.


② For the requirements of butt welding of steel keel, the requirements of grade 1 weld should be indicated, and the requirements of back lining steel core welding should be required.


③ The reaction force of long-span steel structure must be provided to the Civil Engineering Institute for review.


④ The requirements for derusting steel keel shall be indicated, because derusting is often carried out on site, which will lead to nonconformity with fluorocarbon spraying quality.


⑤ Maintenance space should be considered when designing the interior treatment of back wall.



2. Design of entrance door


The forms of doors at entrance and exit are related to areas and orientation positions. The width of main entrance shall be 8 ~ 12m. After being put into operation, the selected Z-shaped door opening can lengthen the traffic length of customers and improve the human feeling. Special attention should be paid to the selection of electric translation door. For example, as a door used for exhibition passage, the translation and horizontal opening functions are required. However, special attention should be paid to some areas where the fire evacuation width cannot be calculated.



3.Design of large glass facade


For the glasses used in shops and public passages, the high-transparency presentation of the internal display of the shops should be considered for the shops on the first floor. As for the public passage, which belongs to the area where the decoration is relatively crude, and the kitchen area cannot be penetrated internally, it is more important to find a balanced point between the effect and the color difference of facade glass.


For large glass facade, the following points should be noted:


① It is most economical to control the width of glass division at 1.68m, and the conventional commercial shaft spacing is 8.4m, and 9.6m is equally divided according to the shaft network, which is beneficial to indoor plugging. Height of glass used for the inner penetration part is 4.5m, which is advantageous to combine with the inner ceiling.


② Glass used in the shop should be the dual ultra clear tempered glass rather than low-e. It is important to note the energy-saving calculation of civil engineering trade-off.


③ Laminated glass is required for the outer sheet above the second floor of Zhejiang Regional Commercial Center. Thus, there are two problems: a. The weight of glass is very heavy, which cannot be solved by the glass bracket on the conventional beam. Thus, 6061-T6 T-shaped glass bracket is adopted at the cross seam of the column. b. Homogeneous tempered glass is used at the entrance of the second floor, and the glass body is greening, so it is very difficult to achieve the same color effect. Thus, we recommend using ultra clear outer sheet to ensure that the glass before the low-e surface is not greening as much as possible, and finally we communicate with customers to apply the ultra clear glass instead of low-e glass. Facade color control on the glass facade will be better.


④ When the elevation is ±0.000, the conventional practice is to set the beam. However, it will be uncomfortable for business to have flashing. However, a waterproof problem will occur when flashing is removed. In this project, the glass is used to enter the slot from the lower opening. Meanwhile, the underground ditch is set after communicating with outdoor landscape agency, and 50mm is staggered for indoor and outdoor heights.



4. Stone facade


In this project, the stone facade accounts for a large facade area. Stone material is the white and hemp granite stone with hairy surface, and the gap form is I-shaped gap, with a local lamp groove position of 200mm.


Several details should be noted in design:


① Thickness of stone is rough on the outer surface. If the stone surface is disqualified after being chiseled and stacked, it is very likely that the plate surface is uneven or the reverse arc plate will appear.


② Some arc areas have a large radius, so that it is necessary to analyze the offset of I-joint points, because the offset point of I-joint in the project is only 1mm, which can be ignored.


③ For the selection of width and height of stone plate, it is economical to keep the specification of 600x1200 stone plate. And, the color difference of stone plate can be controlled properly.


④ Selection of storage System form: Stainless steel L-hanging system is considered in the early stage of scheme, which is economical. However, the L-hanging system cannot realize three-way adjustment, and then the form of SE storage system is applied. However, when I-slit stone facade is the SE, a set of pendant base will be added. Within the cost range, SE is finally adopted. Due to the high construction cost of back-bolt system, they are not used in large area. Back-bolt system is applied in local position, and T-hanging form is not adopted as it is not allowed to be used in Zhejiang.



5. Aluminum-plate facade


The division widths of aluminum panel used in the project are 500mm, 1000mm and 1500mm. For projects where aluminum panels are used in large areas of commercial centers, the flatness of aluminum panel is the most easy to appear. Thus, the thickness, width and height of aluminum panel and the arrangement of reinforcing ribs of aluminum panel are the top priority of control.


Experiences are as follows:


① The spreading width of aluminum panel should not exceed 1450mm. 


② The height of aluminum panel is controlled within 3m. If required, the width of some plate styles can exceed 3m. If the plate is too long, the processing, transportation, on-site stacking and on-site installation will easily lead to uneven installation of aluminum panels.


③ The requirement of aluminum facade keel is to control the utilization rate of columns to 85%-95%, which will be relatively high for commercial mall. Thus, for the calculation model of columns, basically the double-span beam model will be selected.



6. Daylighting roof


Some suggestions for daylighting roof:


① For Longhu, the daylighting roof requires that the interior should be transparent. Thus, the glass should be the three ultra clear low-e glasses. Indoor reflectivity is not more than 0.1, which means that indoor transparency is very high.


② For glass division, the good feeling of glass daylighting top should be considered. Thus, it can be considered that the glass is generally controlled not more than 4㎡, and the long side size of glass is between 2.5-3m. The drainage slope is parallel to the short side direction. The drainage slope of daylighting roof shall not be less than 5%.


③ For condensed water drainage measures, overlapping of primary and secondary keels are also the key points of daylighting roof design.


④ For long-span steel keel, the requirements of derusting, fire prevention and weld should be noted, and butt weld is level 1 and secondary keel weld is level 2. The position of butt welding joint of primary steel beam should be set at 1/4-3/4 position of steel beam.


⑤ Advertising hooks should be pulled in advance for commercial operation, and provide points to provide loads. Load is taken into account in structural calculation, and the advertisement hook node is indicated in the construction drawing.
