A tropical urban complex will be created with the facade facade as the medium.

Sanya GRANDJOY City

 Project background 

Sanya Joy City Urban Complex is located in the core area of the east bank area of Sanya Headquarters Economic and Central Business District, which was launched in 2019, with a building area of about 300,000㎡. It is planned to have 200.5m of Grade A office building, "Double Landmark" buildings and Joy Gemini Office Buildings of Sanya Joy City Shopping Center. Located as visiting place, five centers, namely, trend center, life center, cultural tourism center, entertainment center and business center are built, with high quality and high value standards, providing a "super-long standby" youth trend gathering place and creating a visiting resort.

 Design idea 

Based on the concept of "Everything Grows and Natural Permeability", the ecological design concept of "Urban Oasis, Mountains and Seas are Connected" and fully respect of people-oriented tenet, the project integrates the local natural ecological landscape into the commercial vitality, and connects the bright spots such as the fifth facade, roofing block, tropical garden and sinking square with streams and water curtains to create an "Unbounded" ecological green space integrating indoor and outdoor scenes, deeply integrate local culture, art and commerce, create urban landmarks and spiritual fortresses, and infinitely extend the commercial core and imagination.

 Facade design 

 Sanya Joy City Urban Complex 

One side along Yingbin Road is used as the main display surface, and the "Red Box" is used on the facade to show the main entrance. For the overall area, the facade texture is emphasized and the image of a unified central business district is formed. The facade is in light white, and the elegant and refreshing light color system conforms to the unique regional characteristics of Sanya coastal city. Concise, tall and straight and dynamic facade fits the overall urban style. The cinema volume on the east side is combined with the layers of public space, creating a tropical facade, sheltering from the wind and rain, adjusting the microclimate, and responding to the site climate with buildings.

 Main commercial entrance 

The main commercial entrance should be the frame facade system, with a facade span of about 19500m, a vertical division of 1890mm and a maximum glass size of 1800mm*3300mm.

 Glass box at the secondary entrance on southeast 

The secondary entrance on southeast should be the double-layer facade system, the inner layer should be the gray-white ceramic panel, and the outer layer should be the fixture-type full glass facade, with the maximum glass size of 2070mm*3150mm.

 T1 tower lobby 

The cable facade of T1 tower lobby has a vertical span of about 21.5m and a horizontal span of about 40m, and the facade of vertical cable form shall be applied. The butterfly spring is used at the bottom of the cable as the prestress maintenance device of the cable.

 Daylighting roof 

The warping lateral hemming should be the vertical bar division mode. The bottom layer has the functions of electromechanical shutters and opening sash, which are uniformly processed by shutter language. The upper glass is provided with triangular bar decoration to unify the effect of large skylight.

In Sanya Joy City, combined with the solar radiation simulation of the facade, the thermal parameters of the key facade are strengthened to reduce the indoor thermal radiation and strengthen the energy-saving effect of the building. In the design, the external sunshade components with corresponding angles in the southwest direction are set through a detailed analysis of solar trajectory model and according to the sunlight radiation angle from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Sanya, which not only ensures indoor lighting and beauty, but also effectively reduces solar radiation and overall energy consumption of the building.

In the project, Joy City Holdings Company always takes the construction of "Peak Carbon Dioxide Emissions and Carbon Neutrality" as the core, makes full use of natural climatic conditions in  Sanya, and applies multiple measures such as air conditioning energy-saving system, passive external shading, photovoltaic, facade ventilation, point-to-point air supply and prefabricated buildings in the whole process, so that it becomes the first green low-carbon shopping center with passive cooling in tropical climate. We contribute Joy City Holdings South China Business Card Works in Hainan Free Trade Port, and build a new highland for urban culture and commercial economy development in Sanya.
